In April 2022, Guilty Pleasure Sweets Shop & Cakes was the proud recipient of the 2021 New Business of The Year Award by the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented by Randolph County Development Authority Executive Director Robbie Morris to Sandra Lucas and Michelle Buck at the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce at the annual awards banquet.
In an article about the awards ceremony in The InterMountain, Robbie Morris stated,
“In 2020, a pop up sweet shop opened on Davis Avenue just in time for the holiday season. These home bakers were encouraged by friends and families to expand their customer base and work to open their own business. By March of 2021, they were renting a location downtown and the ovens were busy filling a store with cupcakes, cookies, breads, cakes and more.
“Each treat on their shelves is baked with love and care. As two breast cancer survivors, baking brought joy at a time of hardship.”

The Chamber presents six awards each year—from Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Citizen of the Year, and more—to honor local businesses, volunteers and chamber members. The event is sponsored by FirstEnergy. We are honored and humbled by this award! Thank you, Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce!
